Oaktown Zoo.

We had bought season passes for the Oakland Zoo and for some reason after the Frigirls moved to AZ we stopped going.  Well, it was a sunny day(nothing new really), and I wanted to get out and about without spending any money and it clicked that I haven't taken advantage of our zoo passes.  So we packed up our picnic and headed to Oakland.

First stop was morning tea in the flamingo garden.

Two monkey's trying to jump the fence to get to the giraffe's.

June LOVES elephants.

Mila missing Ava and Aneka a little bit.

June doesn't like the looks of this tunnel.

"I'll just stay here, thanks"

Lunchtime!

Time to get mixed up in the web.

This pic was taken right before June straddled this poor goat and tried riding her.

Summer's fanciful danciful birthday party.

On Saturday it was Summer's 3rd birthday.  Summer's birthday theme was the perfect cocktail of little girl fantasies. It was a "Fairy Princess party @ the Love2dance studio"  What more than fairies, princesses and dancing could a little girl ask for....well maybe a pony, but I don't think the dance instructor would have approved of horse shit in her studio.  Summer hadn't been to dance class in a while so Mila was so thrilled to see her again.  I don't think she let her out of her eyesight the whole time.

Fairy princesses lining up for their dance class.
Mila was so happy to see Summer, she wasn't going to let her go.

June dancing to her own beat while Mila and Summer dance.
A fun game with the parachute.
June was too little to play, although she begs to differ.
She decided to play with herself in the mirror instead.
My delicate flowers.

June watching Mila.

Summer joined in too.
Mila had a play with the pom poms as well.  The ribbons were still her favourite.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUMMER, WE LOVE YOU!

Cousin Ada's Birthday Party.

Ada turned two and on Saturday she had an ice-cream party to celebrate.  Gramma and Grampa Dave even made a special trip down from WA to join in on the festivities.

Mila immediately jumped in the ice-cream truck, threw on her apron and started serving sundaes.

"And what would you like?"

Ada preferred to eat paper plates.

Even June took a turn at serving up popsicles.

Greedy Gramma was loading up on ice-cream sundaes....do you think she knows they are plastic?

June took a little time to do some gardening.

Beautiful sisters.

I can dress her up, but I can't stop her from playing with dirt.

Mila loves her cousin......Ada is still a little unsure about Mila.

Ice-cream time!!

June juggling her ice-cream and a ball.....tricky stuff

Judging by Ada's face, I'm not sure if she is a fan of chocolate. Judging by the mess on Mila's face, I'm pretty sure she is.

Nummy, nummy, nummy.

Time for a stroll to work off all that ice-cream Gramma.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Jelly Belly Factory

On the drive to Tahoe, I passed the Jelly Belly factory and I realised that it had been years since I had visited with Mum and Dad.  I figured that if I could take Dad to the Jelly Belly factory and not get kicked out, then taking my girls should be a cinch.  We met up with Nikki, Andrew and Tyler and prepared ourselves for the extra 5lbs we would gain and the sugar rush our delightful children would encounter on the one hour drive home.

Decisions, decisions....
This was the group photo from the entrance.  It's low res because swiped it from the website and there was no way I was paying $30 for this picture.

Even the burger was jelly bean shaped.

Smiley face french fries.
"This does not taste like a jelly bean....."
