Gingerbread house.

With Christmas a few weeks away we got into the Christmas spirit by making a gingerbread house and a gingerbread Christmas tree.  It was very difficult for me not to eat the goodies before they made it to the house or the tree.

Mila takes her decorating very seriously.

June "helping" out.

The final product. Yum.

We even had a little candy snowman.

Snow sports

When in Tahoe, do as Tahoen's do.  So it seemed fitting that we partake in snow activities such as sledding, snowman making and ice-skating.

And voila!

June sledding for the first time
Mila sledding for the first time.

Mila ice-skating with her Daddy, she leant on 5 gallon buckets for balance.

Poor June was desperate to skate, but alas, was too small.

Mila trying an axle.

We stopped into the arcade on the way out and the girls had a drag race.

Who won?  No one, because as it turns out, you don't need to put money in a machine for kids under 3.

A very Tahoe Thanksgiving

After the little feast at school we loaded up the car and headed up to Tahoe to celebrate with Mike and Nikki and their two boys Andrew and Tyler.

First thing on the agenda? A stroll in the Mills' back yard.....not too shabby.
"We found snow!"

Then it was time to warm up inside and sit down to an insane feast.  The boys deep fried the turkey and the potatoes, while Nikki and I took care of the sides.
Time for some deep fried turkey!!

Anton proceeded to fall asleep on the couch after dinner which lead to some shenanigans.

June LOVED Charlie the dog.

School Thanksgiving feast.

Mila's school had a little Thanksgiving feast.  The kids sang songs in English and Spanish and then we sat down to feast.

Jete time.

Mila's ballet is progressing and in June she will have her first recital.  Here is a little sneak peek at her Jete's

Halloween

This year Mila chose to go as Little Red Riding Hood and June chose NOT to go as the Big Bad Wolf, so our Halloween pictures are all of our enthusiastic Red and a very uncooperative wolf.  Anton dressed as the woodsman and I dressed as none other than the grandmother.  Of course I forgot our camera for trick or treating, so we've got some blurry iPhone pics.

Off to school in her outfit, she is ever so excited.

Wearing the Red hood.

June's costume.  This is the only picture of it.

June agreed to the overalls, but that was about it.

Mila had a little parade at school and she took it VERY seriously.

Mila was told it was a parade so she behaved accordingly.

We went trick or treating with Mila's buddies Maxx and Owen in a neighbouring town and it did not disappoint.  Ross is a very affluent town which closes off its streets so that the children can trick or treat in safety.  They take it VERY seriously and the decorations on some of these houses blew my mind.  Some houses even had bands playing on the front lawn.  It was just like the American movies I would watch as a kid, no, it was better. Of course I have no pictures, but we will most definitely be going this year and I am determined to be prepared this time.

Time to go home.  These two little ones outlasted all the other kids.

Back in the saddle.

Now a third of the way through February, I am finally back in the saddle and finally getting to update the girls blog.  It's been a stream of "technical difficulties" varying from crappy computers to internet issues and network problems.  Now that most of it has been resolved, I can at least get back to updating the girls blog.  Flipping back through my pictures I am realising that I am going to have to start back at Halloween......wow is this going to take some time.  My saving grace is that my camera was also one of the "technical difficulties", so I have less pictures than what I normally would have.  Here goes......
