Pre-Thanksgiving festivities

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we get together with the gang and have pre-Thanksgiving Dinner together.  They are usually pretty amazing and this year was no exception.  Specialty cocktails, cranberry chutney, stuffing from Dave's rad bread, butternut squash soup, roasted veggies, creamed spinach, pumpkin pie, mince pie and of course, Daddy's smoked turkey.

Mila helping Daddy with the rub on the bird.

June being coy with David.

Everyone busy at work.......this is one of those instances when too many Chef's do NOT spoil the broth.

The girls with David and Brooke. David was only allowed to talk to Mila in Spanish.  We told her his name was Dora and it kind of stuck.....he he he.

What a civilised bunch.
June having a taste of Mummy.
Pies........and 2lbs the next morning on the scales.
Mila and 'Dora'

The morning after.  Homemade waffles with whipped cream and cranberry chutney...oh lord.

Mila learning the ins and outs of waffle making.

Patiently waiting.............

O-town zoo.

Yesterday we went to the Oakland Zoo with the Frigirls.  It was super duper fun and Mila enjoyed the animals a lot more than she did last time we went to the zoo.  Of course the playground and the train were the highlights......sometimes you can't win.  But the weather was glorious and the company was perfect so the day was a super success.....except the departure which resulted in a tantrum and tears, we need to work on that........

Looking at the Tiger.

"I'm a butterfly!"
There's always time for the spiderweb.

Lunch time!!

Skipping across the lilypads.
Kendra trying on the bunny ears for size.
Down the log slide.

We found a little polar bear that looked just like June.

Such a happy little baby.

Riding the tomato frogs.

Say "Cheese!"
The Macaw's were too loud.

June falling asleep at the wheel.......time to go home.

Time to start Thanksgiving crafts.

Her first handprint turkey.  She insisted on giving him a smile even though the instructions didn't call for it.

Pink ladies.

BADM November

We scored a sweet Groupon deal for the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito so we headed out there last week with the Frigirl's for some Fall fun
Mila feeding the windy leaf blower tube thingy.
Aneka and Ava's turn
Time for some pretend lunch.
"I'm not a a vet or anything, but there is definitely something wrong with this lizard"

Time for the Mummy's to put their feet up and watch a puppet show.

Little birds in the crowsnest.
Ahoy matey's!

Time for a little face painting.

A little creative time with moon dough.  I love how tidy the Frigirls piles are...Mila takes after her Daddy when it comes to messes.
The two newest additions, Adeline and June.

June giving Adeline taste.

It's a good thing Aneka can't reach the pedals because none of them have their seatbelts on.

We be jammin'

Anton has been playing his electric guitar a little bit lately, naturally Mila wanted to be just like Daddy so I bought her a little Uke so she could play along.  That left an opening for a pianist, which June thought she should do seeing as she can only sit and can't stand yet.
She's a natural
Deep in concentration
This one is for the album cover.

She insisted on wearing the cowboy hat, what a rockstar.

Jammin'

She's got it down

Pretty girl.

"Hey June!  Show us your Gerber baby impression!"

"How's this?"

June's first departure from the boob.

I am not one to start a baby on solid foods early and my intention was, (and still is) to breastfeed June for a minimum of a year.  That being said, there came a point when we would all be seated at the table eating and June would squeal and yell at us for not sharing our food with her.  Soooooo, I gave her a little taste and it she LOVED it.  She would squeal with delight and kick her legs in an excited frenzy every time a spoon came in her direction.  So far it has only been mashed banana, avocado and pear, (not together), but she is loving it!  Here are some pic's from her first breakfast.

Handling the spoon like a pro.
Lip-smacking delicious.
"Buuuuuuurp"
"That wasn't me......"
