Last trip to O-town zoo with the Frigirls.

With the Frigirls moving back to Arizona, we had to squeeze in as much fun as we could, so we thought we'd squeeze in one more trip to the zoo.
First stop were the Giraffes.

The girls doing a Giraffe impression.
OK, this shot breaks my heart..........

Time to climb all over the sacred statue of.....well I don't know who it is because it is covered in little girls.

"Nice hat"  "Thanks, nice shirt"  "Thanks"

Mila doing the masterful "Tiger claw!"

Time for a spot of lunch in the shade.

Junebug too.

The Goat Whisperer

The little ones having a giggle together.

Mila trying to keep June in the stroller with her....it didn't work so well, but I got a cute shot.

First dip of the season.

FINALLY, it's swim season and we were chomping at the bit to get in that pool again.  Mila did really well om her own.  We started out with her wearing her wetsuit with the floats inside, but quickly realised that nothing beats a bikini bottom and rashy.  We spent two straight days by the pool before the weather turned on us....well that and Mila peed in the pool so we had to evacuate.
Ready, set, jump! Actually I pushed her in and she hasn't let me forget it.
Mila taking extra special care of her sister.

June lounging in Mummy's hat.

Splashing around.

Stairway to freedom.

Well, after finding her playing in the playroom on the second floor when we were all downstairs I:

a)  Lost my Mother of the Year award
b)  Had a heart attack
c)  Moved back into "safety gate" mode
d)  Got sad and excited that my baby girl is growing up.
e)  All of the above.

The answer is e.

Napa Fun Day

Anton finally took an entire day away from the office, so we thought it best that we keep him far from the office.  We started out with a trip to Sonoma for breakfast at one of our favourite places, the Fremont Diner.
Sweetcheeks
Say "waffles!"
Nothing like the right view to get you in the mood for a little wine-tasting.

The family.
Then we headed out to Napa Valley for a little wine tasting. We chose Castello di Amorosa because it was a Castle as well as a winery so Mila and June could play fantasy while Daddy and Mummy got drunk.
The Castle
Crossing the drawbridge.  Much to my delight, Mila was in more of a knight mood than a princess mood
Enter the Dragon
One, two, three.
"Daddy is so big...or these doors are teeny".
Mila trying to pick the locks.
"Daddy, you should get these, then you wouldn't have to buy bottles all the time!"
Mila's impression of a wagon wheel.
Mila's impression of a Rock Star.
Crushing wine, old school.
Soooo, what vintage are you?

Princess June taking a bath.
"Er-hum, a little privacy please?"
Strolling along the moat, looking for frogs that need kissing.
Mila's impression of the vineyard stakes.

Next on the Agenda were cheeseburgers and sweet potato fries at Gott's roadside diner.

The girls waiting for their order.
Mila wanted to know if Oscar was in the trash can. She was disappointed that he wasn't, but then she stated the obvious, "well he is at Sesame Street of course!"
Then it was homeward bound to drink some more wine, lounge by the pool and make poolside s'mores by the fire.

More wine
"Me man, me make fire!"
Mila refers to the s'mores as "lunch".  In her dreams.
Cuddles are always in order.
Secrets
Joy, joy, joy.

Opposites

Tonight I served the girls macaroni and cheese with broccoli in it.
Both girls picked the broccoli out. Only Mila set it to the side and ate the rest while June ate only the broccoli and dumped the rest on the floor.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday began with the discovery that we had been visited by the Easter Bunny and the San Anselmowl.  Mila had no trouble holding on to her eggs this time.
June waited patiently from the deck.
"Look Daddy!"
Mila inspecting the goods.
June thought it was a lot of fun.

Then it was time to throw our sunhats on, laze in the sun and enjoy a light luncheon of egg salad sandwiches made from the last of the eggs from our Easter bunny project earlier in the week.

Then it was time to frollick in the garden with our new ballerina bunnies that Gramma made us

This is what having a sister is all about. Right here, right now

 Time to reflect.
