Mila Ballerina turns 3!

Well, a designer that doesn't design much, might just get carried away with her three year old's birthday party.  Mila chose a Ballerina theme and I just went to town and back with a lot of pink and a lot of tulle.  We had initially planned for it to be outside, but of course Mother Nature changed our plans so we moved it all inside the night before.
We tented the ceiling in pink and white tulle and created a hanging centrepiece that I affectionately named the "tutulier"
The banner was made of pink and white tulle poms and luggage tags on pink and white spots, pink ticking and gingham which was in keeping with the table runners.

I tried to keep the breakfast menu as pink as I possibly could with quiches, mini sausages, strawberry cream cheese bagels, pink fruit salad, tater tots, strawberry fruit parfait's and good and plenty's. Yummy over the top cinnamon buns in the foreground and weird pink berry flavoured ricecakes on the left.....I even dyed the pineapple in the fruit salad pink so it didn't contrast with the berries.
Strawberry Greek yogurt and fruit parfaits, check out the pink water for the flowers.
Pink plates, utensils, balloons, yadda yadda and strawberry cream cheese on bagels.
Ada liked the buns so much she was double fisting them.
We had a variety of pink beverages too.  Strawberry milk and pink lemonade for the kids and pink champagne, berry cider and a DIY Bloody Mary bar for the adults.
Time for all ballerina's to take a milk break.
Strawberry milk.

Pink Lemonade
Happy ballerina's.  Not a single guest came without their tutu.
Junebug.
The centrepiece was a pink sparkly miniature dress form adorned in, that's right, a tutu.
The artwork in the back ground was a hand (literally) painting done by the birthday girl.  Her handprints make up the tutu.
Time for a wardrobe change
Someone is happy.
Cake anyone?
We all like spit on our birthday cake, right?
Mila got the piece with the 'M'.....for obvious reasons.
I think she approves.
We even had a ballet slipper Pinata.

The Birthday girl has an unsuccessful swing at it.  To be honest I think you are meant to hit these with a chainsaw.

Ella missed softball due to rain, so she's going to practice on the pinata.
I love Ava's whole facial and body expression in this photo....it's half flinching and half glee.

After a little coaxing with some scissors, Mila was able to get it open.  Unfortunately, she didn't realise and you can see all of the others are scrambling for lollies as Mila keeps hitting away.

The goyles.

Mila got a ribbon twirler.  For a first timer, I thought she was pretty good.
"If Uncle Daniel could see me now....."
Someone looks so mature.
Everyone had these Happy Birthday tiara's to wear and these tulle adorned pins that said "Happy Birthday Mila Ballerina"
For an activity we had these ballerina peg dolls to decorate with jewels and little buns to glue on their heads.
Favour bags also wore tutu's
Inside were ballerina necessities. A bendy ballerina doll, a ring, bubbles, a tiara, a wand and a tattoo.

Okay, time to take a break and then it's on to June's birthday party!

I didn't have any wide shots of the whole room, but I found these on my phone taken the night before when we were setting up.

Pin the tutu on the ballerina anyone??
