Mummy's Birthday Celebration.

So for Mummy's birthday, Mila the party/events planner organised the day.  The day began with a trip to Fairyland.  Although adults were prohibited from most rides it was still fun to sit back and watch.  Although, with June in full independent walking mode, there wasn't too much relaxing. Kaitlin and Kristen joined up with us because it's always more fun if you have someone to squeal with.
First on the agenda was a train ride.

Then it was time for a ride on one of Mila's favourites, the Merry-go-round.  Unfortunately, Mummy was taller than the 54" max and June was shorter than the 38" min height requirements.

June bumped into Tweedle-Dee while we were waiting to ride the Alice in Wonderland carousel.

"Are you serious? This is as fast as this thing goes? Lame!"

Mila sat in the turtle throne.

Kaitlin and Mila had a hard time corralling this giraffe.

June was pretty excited to see that there was someone shorter than her at the park,

A quick break in the fairy garden.

Time for a whimsical dance with whoever these guys are meant to be.  They look like they've been here since the fifties.

The girls got locked up for misbehaviour.

Time for a spin in the Ferris Wheel.

Three little fairies.

Three little imps.

This was the original entrance from 1950.  I'm sure ADA requirements took this out of commission.

Afterwards we stopped at Rudy's can't fail cafe for some birthday deliciousness and met up with Papa Bear, or Doody as Mila likes to call him.
We hit up a few stores on the way home, just in time for Mila to bake me a Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza, which was much yummier than one would think.

Thanks for such a fun day girls.  (And Daddy)

Boat vs. Plane

Destination Disneyland - The departure.

Our last morning we spent a leisurely brunch at Goofy's kitchen saying farewell to all our Disney friends that we had become quite accustomed to seeing about the hotel.
Yet another awkward family photo.  I don't know if we will ever get it right.
Dale and Mila

June...still a little untrusting of big heads.

Baloo stopped by who they both loved.
And Cinderella, who I caught commenting on how yummy the Raspberry Cheesecake at the Buffet table looked....and yet when Mila asked her what she liked for breakfast, she said fruit.....tsk tsk Cinders, we know better.

Chip came by to say bye.

Pluto stepped out of the kitchen to check on us.

And Princess Aurora taught Mila how to do the princess pose.

Of all the character's to not be scared of, June liked this guy....the character I thought was the scariest.

Mila and Rafiki from The Lion King.

Mila decided to drive home in her own car.
After we left the Disneyland hotel we went for a little drive through Hollywood, it's funny how something as little as seeing the Hollywood sign can be so exciting. While we were there we thought we should check out Mann's Chinese Theatre and Rodeo Drive.  Of course the girls were asleep so we couldn't really get out and walk around, so I didn't get to buy anything.....haha.

After our our little Los Angeles tourist detour, we hit Hwy 1 and drove up the coast from Santa Monica through Malibu and up to Santa Barbara where we stopped for a little English Fish and Chips and Sheperd's pie on the beach.

Hwy 1
June and Daddy playing on the beach.
Mila making a sand castle.  It was not the most successful, probably because she didn't wet the sand.
Then it was time to hit the road and head for home......it was a fabulous trip and the only thing I would change is that I wish it could have been longer.
Over and Out!

Destination Disneyland - Day 3 (CA Adventure Park)

After sleeping like logs after our 14 hour day at Disneyland the day before we started off with a nice healthy breakfast of Beignet's, milk and extra large coffee's before we headed over to California Adventure Park.
All smiles.
Mila's first Beignet.
Lick of approval.
Mama recharging.
Happy Junebug

Mila sprinting through Downtown Disney to get to the park.

It was a little chaotic with the opening of Carsland, so I was very happy when we got through the gates without a hitch.  "We made it!"

A "newsboy" gave Mila a newspaper and she was very engrossed in it and wouldn't put it down.

A heel click was in order.  Too bad the camera man missed it.  It just looks like I'm trying to fix a wedgy.
By 9.30am both girls were exhausted, but Anton and I were eager to check out Carsland, so we dragged them along.
One of the rides which looked awesome.......with a 4 hour line to ride it.  Er, no thanks.
The Cozy Cone was very cozy with the crowds.
The chaos was all through Main Street of Carsland, but despite all of the fat American's we were still able to appreciate how cool it was.  We even got a glimpse of John Lasseter.
For a breath of fresh air we went on the Zeppelin ride.
Mila and June loved it.  We've got some thrill seeker's on our hands.
Mila and Daddy going up on the Jelly Fish.
You can catch a glimpse of Mila's head peeking over the top.
At 41-1/2" Mila breezed by almost all of the height requirements.
Riding the swings.
Mila and Jessie going for a nice stroll along the Boardwalk.
Jessie and June having a chat.  June doesn't trust people with big heads.
Woody and Mila having a cuddle.
Woody's sheriff badge poked Mila in the eye.  I don't think she will forgive him for that.
Jake made up for where Woody disappointed with a super pirate hug.
What a cute couple.
We stumbled across a danceclub that had a "Dance with the Villains" theme.  It was in the middle of the day and hot outside so we thought we'd cool off by watching Mila work up a sweat with Captain Hook, Mr Smee, Cruella Deville, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham and the Big Bad Wolf.
June and Mila moving to the dancefloor with a little trepidation.  After all they are villains.
It didn't take long before Mila was front and centre.
And June right beside her.
Before too long there was no stopping Mila, she was unleashing the dance maniac within.
And a final bow.
Then it was a hop, skip and a wiggle back to the room for a nap.
The wall sconce in our bathroom.
I love this shot.
Then we were off to Ariel's Grotto for dinner. We heard that the princesses like to visit there so we were excited.
Mila could hardly control her excitement.
Someone call the Fire Dept.
Ariel's Grotto did not disappoint, we saw Snow White.

And Cinderella.....
Ariel of course.
Princess Aurora in all her royal grace.
And Belle, Mila liked her dress a lot
After dinner we watched the "Magic of Colour" show which was fun, but not near as good as the "Fantasmic" show we had watched the previous night.  We strolled though Carsland one more time to see it lit up at night which was not disappointing and then we timed it perfectly to catch the fireworks at the Disneyland entrance.  We couldn't have timed it better.... except for the 4 hour line for the cars ride.
Carsland Main Street
Fireworks finale.
